Muhalif. DISSIDENT Djoko, the GOAT?

Djoko, the GOAT?

Okunma Süresi: 2 dk

Hi all,
That was not a great final, at least in the first two sets. Then players raised their levels, reduced number of unforced errors but we were not at the stratospheric levels of some legendary Wimbledon finals like the ones of two years ago btw Fed and Djoko, the one of 2001 btw Goran Ivanesevic ( now coach of Djoko) and Pat Rafter not to talk about the top of the top the 2008 final btw Rafa and Roger who will remain for most of tennis fans as the best tennis match ever. So, what have we seen today? A very committed Berretinni, trying to play on his strengths, a huge serve and forehand. And Novak, returning Mario's serve as much as possible and play on his backhand. I would be curious to know how many times did he play on the Italian's backhand. Could be more than 80% of his shots. And it pays off. Novak is not the most enthousiastic player to watch but we have to confess that he is by far the most gifted player with tremendous baseline and net skills (which was not the case at the beginning of his career) but most important, he has a physical condition and mental strength by far above all competitors including Rafa. What's next? He has the road wide open to raise the bar around 25 or even 30 Grand Slams. Roger is coming to an end, there is almost no chance he can win a major , not to say a ATP tournament again. Rafa can only win in Paris, but Novak is now better than him on clay. New Gen? Tsitsipas, Thiem, Berrettini, Zverev are all very good players but will always miss something against the serb. So again, though i am not a Novak fan, i have to confess he might soon be considered as the GOAT, the Greatest of All times, if you think he is not already.

See you for the US Open in 6 weeks
