Ekrem İmamoğlu was elected as the new president of Union of Municipalities of Turkey (UMT). Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, received 515 votes while his rival, Ahmet Metin Genç, Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, received 250 votes. Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar became the acting president.
