Hi everyone, good to come back to you after this long summer break and the 20th Djokovic Grand Slam in London. US Open is starting, with all eyes focused on Djoko, in search of winning the four Majors in the same year. Nobody did it since Rod Laver in ...1969! On top of this, winning in New York will brought him on the top of the world, with 21 GS, one more than Roger and Rafa...will it be easy? Not really...Djoko has a relatively hard draw with Karatsev, Berrettini and Zverev on the way to final. Zverev will be in my opinion the main threat for him. The german is full of confidence this summer with his gold medal in Tokyo olympics and his victory in Toronto 1000 masters. He looks to have reached another level and beleived that he can finally lift his first Major trophee. A part from Zverev, Medvedev will be for trying for sure to reach the final, having a easy draw till last 8 but the Russian is not known to be the most constant player on the tour so everything is possible with him including an early exit...Among underdogs, we have as usual Sinner, Rublev or even Paire, the french crazy guy, who seems to have improved his concentration and interest for the game over the last week.
So, that's gonna be exciting to follow how Djoko will face the pressure and all these opponents during the next two weeks. Be ready, all matches on Eurosport, see you soon again. Francois
