Good Evening All,
Let me start with the sad news of the day, the defeat of Roger Federer. How nice was it to see him at 40 years old going through the first four rounds of this tournament , and hope to see him on Sunday in the search of his 9th title in London. But this hope has now gone. He played one of his worst tie-break in the second set, and then gave up without any signs of fighting spirit in the last set. For sure he knew that coming back from two sets down was out of his capabilities. I'm Afraid as most of his fans that it might be his last match and he will announce his retirement from the game pretty soon. So sad. But wimbledon goes on.
As i have predicted in my last paper, Berettini and Auger Aliassime are now fighting for a spot in the last 4. They are part of this new generation who will take over the big three in the next years. Like Hurkacz and Shapavalov.
I beleive the semi finals will be fantastic but the final winner is probably already known as Novak looks better than ever, making no unforced errors and having improved his volley and service over the last years. He remains the heavy favourite but should one of these up and coming guys are on fire on his way to the title, nothing is impossible and we will end up with a new name as a Grand Slam winner.
